Mark D. Cassano, Psy.D., is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Beck Community Initiative in the Aaron T. Beck Psychopathology Research Center at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Cassano earned his degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at the APA-accredited VA North Texas Health Care System, with rotations in medical/surgery consultation, primary care-mental health integration, the spinal cord injury unit, the substance abuse residential treatment program, and the trauma services clinic. Dr. Cassano is passionate about educating providers, and healthcare systems, about the effective implementation and benefits of evidence-based approaches to mental health care provision. He is also a strong advocate for interdisciplinary approaches to care, and is devoted to finding ways to increase access for underserved populations to receive quality health care services. His research interests include provider perceptions of inter-disciplinary approaches to health care, and the impact inter-professional education and approaches to care have on providers’ view of these practices, health outcomes, health care costs, and patient/provider satisfaction.
