Psychological Medicine published our article, “What accounts for poor functioning in people with schizophrenia: a re-evaluation of the contributions of neurocognitive v. attitudinal and motivational factors.” A description of the development and validation of the Penn and the matrix battery did not make it to the paper, but we detailed here for your review.

Dr. Beck made a special video appearance at the Georgia Beck Initiative panel discussion. The event was put together to create an opportunity to discuss the current efforts in Georgia to build the capacity of community providers in addressing the needs of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness using Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy. In a significant move for the city of Philadelphia, Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS), Community Behavior Health (CBH) and Dr. Aaron T. Beck have collaborated to disseminate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy throughout Philadelphia’s behavioral health system since 2007. In the video, Dr. Arthur Evans (former Commissioner of DBHIDS) and Dr. Aaron Beck highlight their work together.
